One Coffee To Many

So I barely slept last night, and like most days with no sleep I turned to coffee to keep me going. Today though instead of just my breakfast and occasional lunch cup, I got crazy and threw in an after work cup and totally screwed myself up.

I believe if I would have just gone home after work it would not have been an issue, but I had to get some time on the bike in. When I started I was fine, but after about 20 minutes I was pouring sweat (more than normal) and starting to feel light headed.

Just t be safe I decided to stop and get a drink of water to clear my head. When I got back on I felt okay for about 5 – 10 minutes the knew I had to stop. I figured it was my blood sugar so I went and got a Mocha Madness at the Lifetime Cafe to even me out. The result was that it just made things worse. I sat in the locker room for a little bit to get my head on straight before heading home. Even when I got home and ate dinner I could still feel off. It took about three hours before I finally started to feel normal again.

Now as I lay here in bed I finally realize what happened. It was not blood sugar, it was not lack of sleep, all it was was having way to much caffeine in my system. I guess losing 170+ pounds has significantly changed my ability to handle caffeine.

Has anyone else who lost a bunch of weight had this issue? Any tricks you have picked up when you have done this on accident?

Please let me know, because after today I am seriously considering giving up all caffeine going forward.
